1. A New Member Of The Gang?
Something that has become widely reported during recent months is that Mindy Kaling, star of Fox's The Mindy Project, will be making an appearance in the new season. This was seemingly confirmed by social media post from both her and the show’s writer-creator Rob McElhenney.
Her exact role in the season is as-of-yet unconfirmed and many have speculated it is likely to only be a cameo appearance, but there is always a chance it could be something more permanent.
With the show’s main cast being unaltered for over 12 years, since Danny DeVito’s introduction in season 2, and Dennis' reduced role during season 13. Kaling’s casting as a full-time member of the gang could be a genius move from the show’s creators.
This should provide a positive change to the group’s existing dynamic, which has been unaltered for many years, and will certainly lead to a host of hilarious new storylines.
