Every TV sitcom runs into the clichés and tropes of marriage, relationships and motherhood. It's a significant part of life, so comedy shows always seek to include them to make their characters grow up. This moment is fantastic as it gives you that trope and presents it in a way that gets you invested but then yanks the rub out from underneath you, giving you emotion and laughter in equal measure.

The episode "Dee Gives Birth" is precisely the kind of chaotic birth-giving outing that you'd expect from the show. Dennis furiously demands better services for his sister, Dee wanders around with a lack of regards and Mac, Charlie, and Frank try to find the father. But, the chaos fades away when Dee comes out of the operating room with the baby in hand.

Suddenly, everything changes, as the music is sentimental, and it plays out in slow motion. It's cheesy, yes, but effective, as Dee looks so happy and you feel that things will be different now.

Of course, this feeling doesn't last long, as Dee gives the baby to Carmen - The Tranny - and the show moves on, poking fun at the sitcom baby cliché.

Still, it had us all going for a second, and it was nice to see Carmen get a happy ending.
