It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: 10 Worst Things The Gang Have Done
2. Fake Dead Baby Funeral
When The Gang themselves state that this may be one of the worst things they've ever done, you know that they mean it. This episode is a fantastic display of the show's dark humour and proves that no other series will go to the same lengths as Always Sunny.
Throughout the episode Sweet Dee Gets Audited, Dee uses the money she gained from being a surrogate to live a lavish lifestyle. She even claims that the baby she birthed is a dependable, giving her a massive tax break. However, this drums up the IRS's attention, who send an agent to investigate.
The episode's climactic moment shows as Dennis convinces Dee to stage a fake funeral for her non-existent child to persuade the IRS agent to back off. Lying to the IRS is bad enough, but going this far is haunting to witness, and is only made worse after Mac and Charlie flip the coffin open to expose the entire operation, only to find that Frank had placed a dead dog from the alleyway inside it.
As amusing as the entire sequence is, it's also a completely gruesome train wreck and makes for one of the most chaotic moments in the show's history. It's undoubtedly one of the worst things they've done, but doesn't quite take home the top prize.
