Jack Bauer vs Walter White: Who's The Most Badass Character?

4. Toughest Dilemma

Jack: In season 3, Stephen Saunders realises that CTU hardass Ryan Chappelle is getting too close to his plot, and orders he be executed. Jack takes Chappelle to a trainyard, hoping that Chase Edmunds' raid to capture Sanders is successful. It isn't, and Jack is forced to go through with shooting Ryan through the back of the head in the quest for the apparent "greater good". It stands as one of the most devastating moments in 24 history, one that caused significant debate among fans at the time, and still does today. Walt: Walt's relationship with Jesse has been complicated over the years, going from student-teacher to, well, cooking crystal meth together. At the behest of Skyler, Walt eventually crumbles in season five's latter half and decides that Jesse is more trouble than he is worth, and a hit must be taken out against him. When Jesse and Hank trick Walt into believing that his money is about to be burned, he frantically urges Uncle Jack to take Jesse down, unaware that he is in league with the DEA. It is Walt at his most desperate and deranged, and something he only really atones for by saving Jesse from Uncle Jack in the series finale. WINNER: It's gotta go to Chappelle's execution. Jesse had an acute idea that he might get killed one day in the meth game, but a pencil-pusher like Chappelle is typically safe from a grisly end. Well, not in the 24 world, I guess...
