Jessica Jones: 8 Things We Need To See In Season 3
3. The Return Of Luke Cage
Harlem's bulletproof hero started life as a barman and eventual love-interest of Jessica in her own first series. The last time they saw each other was in the closing moments of The Defenders, and the encounter was something of a non-starter.
Much has happened to Luke Cage since. In the finale of his own show, he took ownership of Mariah Dillard's nightclub, which swiftly emerged to be a poisoned chalice. The show ended in a kind of sellout moment, with a decidedly trim yet sinister looking Luke alienating those closest to him and himself. Fans never had closure past this point.
A reunion between Luke and Jessica is long overdue. Perhaps Jessica could make a stop-off at Harlem and put our misguided hero back in his place. It might be true that she has found a new love life since, but that doesn't mean she can't help out an old friend in the process. It also means that fans can get that final piece of resolve, which they were deprived of after Luke Cage's cancellation.
