2. Krysten Ritter Is Still The Best

Much like movies, it’s rare to find comic book TV shows recognised much at awards shows, despite the prevalence of them nowadays and the critical acclaim they receive: the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones Season 1, and Legion have all largely been overlooked by the major shows (Emmys, Golden Globes) despite their worthiness.

Jessica Jones was deserving in a few areas, including writing, directing, and for David Tennant's performance, but most of all its star Krysten Ritter, and that's once again the case here.

Jessica, even more here than the first season, is a complex, multifaceted character, and Ritter is incredibly adept at portraying every aspect of her. She's the sarcastic, sharp-witted badass one moment, a raging ball of superpowered energy next, a reluctant hero the next, a female Humphrey Bogart in another instance, and all with a real vulnerability to her. The performance is still raw with the traumas of Jessica's past and present, and she finds new depths in Season 2, becoming a more complete character in the process. Ritter's Jones can be hilarious, horrible, heroic, and everything in between; the performance is the best lead of any of these Marvel shows.
