Jessica Jones Season 3 Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. The Strong Ensemble Cast

Beyond Ritter's exemplary performance, this season also shouldn't accept criticism for the efforts of its ensemble cast, who honestly give the material a far greater effort than it really deserves.

Especially note-worthy is Carrie-Anne Moss, who attempts to turn Jeri's dull-as-dishwater subplot into gold with her genuinely captivating performance, while Rachael Taylor similarly tries her damnedest to make Trish something more than an irksome caricature.

Benjamin Walker also does solid work as Erik Gelden aka Mind-Wave, Rebecca De Mornay lends deceptive depth to Trish's mother Dorothy, and there's also an unexpectedly expanded part for John Ventimiglia, who plays Jessica's uneasy detective pal Costa.

There's not a single half-assed performance among the cast, really, and so it's a damn shame that they're forced to work through such utterly uninspired material.
