Jessica Jones Season 3 Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs
3. Too. Much. Trish.
Season two's ending made it abundantly clear that Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) would play a major part in the third season, and that she absolutely does.
Unfortunately, despite a very solid effort from Taylor to sell the character, Trish is perhaps even more of an irritating, hyper-active nuisance than she was in the previous season.
There are only so many times we can watch Trish act against her own and others' interests without letting out a prolonged groan: it happens many, many times throughout this season, and it quickly inspires impatience.
It doesn't help that two individual episodes are devoted to Trish this season, the first sidelining Jessica entirely while Trish gets her hero on, and the other provides some (admittedly not-bad) context to her upbringing through flashbacks.
But the decision to almost make Trish a co-lead this season was a misguided one, because the story can't ever decide if it wants to redeem her to the audience or fully commit to her potential villainy.
