Krypton Season 1: Ranking Every Major Character From Worst To Best

5. General Zod

Krypton Season 1
Syfy

The mysterious, hardened soldier who was introduced halfway through Krypton's first season and made life just that much more difficult for Seg-El was soon revealed to be none other than General Dru-Zod himself.

Much like Adam Strange, General Zod travelled back in time in an attempt to right the wrongs of the past. However, whereas Strange's mission was to prevent Brainiac from erasing Superman from existence, Zod's mission was to overthrow Krypton and rebuild it in his own image (which he does under the guise of "saving" the planet.)

He's bold, stubborn, aggressive, and willing to do heinous things (including unleash Doomsday) in order to see to it that his will is carried out. In other words, he's the exact same General Zod fans of the Superman mythos know and love (or hate.)

That said, Krypton takes the time to add another layer to the character's lore, explaining that he is actually the son of Seg and Lyta, meaning he is both a Zod and an El.

Ultimately, Zod is a great antagonist who manages to pit the heroes against one another, ultimately beats out Brainiac for the position of Krypton's overlord as the season comes to a close, and is played terrifically by Colin Salmon.
