Krypton Season 1: Ranking Every Major Character From Worst To Best
6. Brainiac
It took a good long while, but a comic book-accurate version of the iconic, planet-collecting Superman villain Brainiac has finally gotten his on-screen due.
In Krypton, Brainiac is one of those villains who is presented as being so daunting and larger-than-life that he doesn't even always need to be physically present in order for his influence to be felt.
Whether he's sending his drones to infect the citizens of Krypton, single-handedly thwarting the coup attempt when he reveals that he has infected the Voice of Rao, or turning the normally brash Daron-Vex into a sniveling footman, Brainiac proved himself as a very strong and competent villain throughout Krypton's first season.
What's more is Krypton re-worked the story so that the planet's destruction was actually caused by Brainiac, which means that he succeeded in his efforts. This creates a great sense of hopelessness and futility, as previously mentioned in the entry on Val-El and his cynicism.
