13. Cary's Dance During The Battle Of The Lighthouse
So, Kerry and Cary Loudermilk have an interesting relationship. That being that they are two people who share a body. Cary, the host, is a middle-aged male scientist who is very much the nuts and bolts type; whereas Kerry is a young woman who is all about the action. When Kerry goes off with some of the others on a mission that turns out to be an ambush, it becomes clear just how deep their connection runs.
The entire actions sequence is strange enough in its own right, due in large part to the behavior of certain characters and the song that accompanies it. However, what takes the cake is Cary (who is watching over David) back at Summerland beginning to do what appears as a dance, mirroring the actions of Kerry's fight.
This becomes a bit unnerving when Kerry bites of more than she can chew and starts taking a turn for the worse, with Cary feeling every single blow that Kerry takes, and begins to collapse while the aforementioned music renders his agonizing screams all but silent.
