19. The Angriest Boy Comes To Life On Halloween Night
Through David's memory work, we also learn of one of his childhood fears; The World's Angriest Boy In the World, the titular character of a storybook his parents used to read him at bedtime who looks like the unholy spawn of Damien Thorn and a Shel Silverstein book.
In a later memory, we see a young David trick-or-treating on Halloween with this sister, Amy, and his dog, King. King suddenly goes off on his own, walking through a gap in the fence of a random backyard, before heading over to what appears to be a shed. On the shed is a drawing of the Angriest Boy. Then, after a quick cut, he materializes off of the wall and becomes a physical being who is the very definition of nightmare fuel. In fact, the only thing more unsettling than the way he looks, is the inhuman way he moves as he begins rushing towards David.
The angry boy's manifestation would go on to appear several more times in season one, but nothing was quite as unexpected as his very first showing.
