Legion: Ranking Every Main Character From Worst To Best

6. Syd Barrett

Legion Lenny David Syd
FX

Sydney Barrett, better known as Syd, is an interesting character to say the least. The very first thing that is established when we meet her is that she doesn't like to be touched. Shortly thereafter, it becomes apparent as to why: as her power is being able to switch bodies with anyone she comes in contact with. And as the series progresses, it seems to be a power that does a bit more harm than good, which creates an interesting conflict as to whether it is a gift or a curse.

In addition, Syd is shown to be both an incredibly smart and incredibly caring person. She all but steals the show in the first episode with her enthralling criticism of the way the psych ward is run, as well as exhibiting genuine care for David and the others on a number of different levels.

Overall, she is an exceptionally great character and is integral to the show's structure. However, the reason she ranks so relatively low has to do with the way she's acted.

Make no mistake, Rachel Keller is a very talented actress who definitely has her moments of brilliance in the show. However, she is also prone to emoting awkwardly at times. There are occasions where her delivery just feels off. It isn't enough to ruin the character, and certainly isn't enough to take anything away from what truly is a spectacular show; but it is definitely noticeable.
