Loki: 10 Insane Fan Theories That Could Come True

8. Loki Defeated The Avengers

Though the Marvel Cinematic Universe has so far focused almost entirely on one single timeline, with the exception of Avengers: Endgame, Loki is set to deviate from this. There are countless timelines and realities monitored by the TVA, and Loki looks to be visiting many different ones across his series.

In Endgame, the Avengers used Tony's time travel GPS to head back to some of the biggest moments in MCU history to steal the Infinity Stones. Loki, however, will be sent across different timelines with the goal of righting some of the wrongs caused by anomalies in time.

In the trailer for Loki, the titular character can be seen in many different environments, but one of the most interesting appears to be a desolate and destroyed version of New York City. There is a run down Stark Tower in the background, indicating that he could be in a timeline in which he and the Chitauri actually defeated the Avengers in 2012.

This could be for a whole host of reasons, however it would potentially make the most sense if Tony was unable to get the nuclear missile through the wormhole before it blew the city to hell. Could this be a reality where Stark was killed before he even had the chance to stop it? Maybe Loki actually killed him when he threw him from the top of Stark Tower?
