Loki Season 2 Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs
3. Up - A Strong Set-Up For The Rest Of The Season
The ending of Loki's first season naturally offered up a lot of questions in the knowledge that a second season was already confirmed. Sylvie had gone off into the distance, Loki was lost in another time, and of course the multiversal war was coming.
It was the job of season two's opening chapter not only to follow up on what came before it, but also to set the stage for the rest of the season. There are five episodes left, and Ouroboros started weaving the threads that will run right through to the finale.
The majority of the episode went through the process of bringing Loki back home, so to speak, but where was the story going to go from there? There were teases of He Who Remains, but the immediate future seems to revolve around Sylvie, and the race to get to her first.
There were also some mysteries thrown in for good measure, as Loki headed to the future. What were he and Sylvie doing there, and who pruned him? And what about Mobius' memory loss? It seemed as though he and OB had very different memories of when they first met, and it's likely this could be explained properly before the end of the season.
