Loki Season 2 Episode 2 Review - 6 Ups & 2 Downs

5. Up - The God Of Mischief

Sticking with a similar theme, episode two offered a few reminders not only of Loki's past as a villain, but also of his rightful title of the God of Mischief. Even just a few years ago, if you'd have said Loki would be working within a structured organisation like the TVA, you'd have been laughed at.

By this point, Loki is essentially a part of the furniture at the Time Variance Authority along with Mobiu., He wears a suit and tie and is trying to save lives instead of take them, which couldn't be a further cry from how he earned the love of the entire MCU fandom.

In episode two, he was able to let loose a little more and remind the world of why exactly he is known as the God of Mischief and a trickster. He toyed with Brad in London, he projected a whole crew of people to confuse and intimidate him, and he manipulated his own shadows to assist him.

Sometimes it's the smallest details that are the greatest. As Loki stood in a row of three with two of his projections, Mobius naturally assumed the middle one was the true Loki, only for him to reveal that he was actually the one to his friend's left. Even such a minor detail shows how well Loki knows people's minds, and how easily he can trick and manipulate them.
