Loki Season 2 Episode 2 Review - 6 Ups & 2 Downs
1. Up - Loki & Mobius
The relationship between Loki and Mobius was one of the best things about the first six episodes of the show back in 2021. Though both characters had heavy influences in the opening episode of season two however, their chemistry together wasn't as on display as much as it could have been.
Arguably this was lost in the chaos that was trying to figure out where everybody stood, in trying to stop Loki's time slipping, and in ultimately trying to save the TVA from melting down. However, episode two more than made up for this.
Immediately, the two were back working together, and it seems clear that when Marvel Studios puts the two characters together, you get more than the sum of their parts. Loki and Mobius, and Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson, work so well together, they can drive home a serious, heartfelt moment, or they can make you laugh with a dumb joke, and everything in between.
One of the most touching moments of the first season was their evolution from adversaries to friends, arguably making Mobius the first friend the God of Mischief ever really had, and that relationship has only been built on ever since. They understand each other now, and are arguably one of the best one-two punches the MCU has ever been able to offer.
