Loki Season 2 Episode 2 Review - 6 Ups & 2 Downs

2. Up - The Return Of Sylvie

Generally speaking, Phase Four wasn't brilliant for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it did at least manage to introduce some wonderful new blood into the franchise. Particularly coming on Disney+, the likes of Kate Bishop, Agatha Harkness, and Kamala Khan have become instant favourites on the platform.

The same could be said about Sylvie. The Loki Variant was compelling, and it was made very easy to form almost instant connections with her. She only appeared for a moment at the end of episode one, but in 'Breaking Bad' she returned to the MCU properly.

There aren't many heroes in the franchise that you would expect to see working in a McDonalds, and certainly Sylvie wouldn't have been one of them. However, now feeling that she achieved her goal in killing He Who Remains, for once she was able to just relax and enjoy her life, rather than running in fear of being pruned.

Unfortunately, that state didn't last long as she was almost immediately dragged back to the TVA, a place where she said herself she had no intention of going back to. Whatever happens throughout the rest of the series, Sylvie will be integral to the story, and as ever, will make every scene she is a part of better for her inclusion.
