Lost: 20 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Must See

9. "Green Lantern/Flash: Faster Friends #1"

Episode(s): Pilot (Part 2), Special, Exodus (Part 2) This comic book - released in 1997 - makes a few appearances in a number of episodes, and though it might have seemed like a random inclusion at first, it - like so many of the seemingly "random" inclusions on Lost - was picked for a good reason. Firstly, the issue in question - "Green Lantern/Flash: Faster Friends #1" - pairs together the two superheroes of the title. In a moment of very early foreshadowing (given that this comic was only seen in season one), the storyline is time-travel based. Also: it features a huge polar bear, much like the one that plagues the show's characters in those early episodes. The comic belonged to Hurley, you'll remember, but was picked up by Walt after the initial plane crash, who failed to understand it as the words were written in Spanish.
