Louie: 10 Reasons It's The Greatest Show Of The Past Decade

5. It's Extremely Unpredictable

louie_shitter This one will be a little bit spoiler-y, specifically for the New Year's Eve episode. No episode of "Louie" is like the one before it, or the one after it. For that matter, no scene of "Louie" is like the one before or after it. The best way to show this would be to highlight the finale of the third season, New Year's Eve. This lovely episode opens in Louie's home on Christmas morning, as he watches his two young daughters open their gifts. Mid-way through the episode, he runs into a woman he's been trying to find, and that woman ends up dying, seconds later. The episode ends with the melancholy protagonist spending New Year's Eve with a family in China. Mind you, this all happens within thirty minutes. I personally can't think of any other shows that aren't at least somewhat predictable, but with "Louie", anything can happen at any moment.
