Love Island: 10 Reasons To Still Be Excited For Season 7
5. The Drama
This should be pretty obvious. Let’s not kid ourselves, we just can’t help but indulge in a bit of drama. If this weren’t true, the medium of Reality TV wouldn’t have become so successful.
Love Island is rife with conflict and it shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the gameplay of the show and how savage it can be. The format literally requires the contestants to remain in a couple in order the survive the game, otherwise they’ll be dumped. The Islanders also compete in several minigames along the way, particularly ones that are designed to cause friction between each other such as “Snog, Marry, Pie”.
The pivotal moment of every series though? Casa Amor. This is a twist set during the halfway point of the series to REALLY cause some drama in which the male contestants are sent over to a different villa to be met with new woman whilst the remaining contestants back in the main villa have new men sent into their area. It’s a testing moment of faithfulness and whether the contestants will stay loyal to their current partner or have their heads turned.
Call it a bit inhumane but we can’t wait for the explosive arguments to finally take place.
