Love, Victor Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

1. Michael Cimino's Performance

Love Victor Michael Cimino
Hulu

Victor Salazar finds himself going on an incredibly moving character journey that feels very authentic. Yes, there are occasional inconsistencies in the narrative, but the reason that it always feels real is, of course, down to the brilliant Michael Cimino.

Where to even start when describing his performance? He's charming every single time he's on-screen, portraying Victor as one of the most endearing protagonists we've seen on TV in some time. But it's not just the light-hearted stuff; no, his performance is authentic - powerful even - and he personifies the character's emotional journey and his struggles really, really well.

It's easy to feel what he's going through because Cimino wants us to feel what he's going through, and he effortlessly holds our attention throughout the show's 10-episode run, ensuring that Victor remains in our hearts and our minds long after the credits roll on the season finale.

The star of the show in every way possible, Cimino is an absolute revelation.
