Love, Victor Season 2 Review: 8 Ups & 3 Downs
Ups...
8. Love, Simon's Presence Remains Without Overshadowing
Love, Victor was so committed to setting itself up as a standalone property in its first season that, Instagram messaging with Simon aside, it was easy to forget it was related to Love, Simon at all.
Of course, that all changed in the eighth episode when Nick Robinson and Keiynan Lonsdale reprised their roles as Simon and Bram, so when Love, Victor season 2 featured its own cameos and references to the founding father of the 'Simonverse', it was nice to see. And, like Simon's reduced role as narrator this season, those references added a great deal to the actual story.
Love, Victor can - and does - stand on its own, but a reference to the movie that started it all every once in a while is always welcome.
