Luke Cage Season 2: 32 Easter Eggs & References Explained
12. "Where's My Money, Honey?"
One of the most crowd-pleasing nods for old-school Luke Cage fans occurs in the season's sixth episode, when Luke is busy trying to protect Piranha from Bushmaster's goons.
Piranha insists that he doesn't need to explain himself to Luke as he's a "hero for hire" - referring to the Luke Cage, Hero for Hire comic book in which the superhero debuted - to which Luke replies, "Then where's my money, honey?"
This line is pulled directly from Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #9, where Cage finds himself hired by none other than Doctor Doom, though finds getting paid by the supervillain a momentous task indeed (though Doom does eventually fork over the cash).
11. Red Skull
After more gunmen pursue Luke and Piranha, Luke punches one of the goons through a wall after his gun jams up, and if you're paying close attention, you might've noticed a wall with a poster promoting a "baffling, western mystery photoplay" called none other than "The Crimson Skull."
Obviously, this is a neat reference to Johann Schmidt aka Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), who of course made a memorable surprise re-appearance in Avengers: Infinity War earlier this year.
You really need to keep your eyes peeled for this one, because it comes and goes in around a second.
