MacGyver Season 3 Premiere: 8 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Improvise'
1. MacGyver Is Back
Speaking of the sheer brilliance of MacGyver (and the team behind the scenes), it's great to have the CBS series back on our screens. For a show that was rubbished by many before it even began, MacGyver has gone from strength to strength, delivering shock after shock, and twist after twist. But the main takeaway here is that nothing ever feels contrived.
The writing is exceptionally strong for a show of this nature, and the actors are still giving it their all. Lucas Till couldn't be more perfect as the loveable protagonist, and Improvise is without a doubt some of the young actor's best work yet. Here's hoping that Meredith Eaton continues to appear in an increased capacity because the show is at its absolute best when Matty is involved. She may be the boss, but she's also the heart of the series, and Eaton is wonderful.
A top-class premiere episode all round. If the rest of the season is even a fraction as good as Improvise, then MacGyver fans are in for a real treat.
