Mad Men: 10 Alcoholic Drinks From The Show You Must Try

7. Whiskey Sour

Rsz Don Draper Whisky Sour The whiskey sour is arguably one of the tastiest and most malleable classic cocktails. These were favoured by Peggy last season in the aftermath of the Ocean Spray meeting. Pete comments that maybe he should switch to whiskey sours, and he'd be a fool not to. The Whiskey Sour is incredibly easy - whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup: all stuff you probably already have lingering at the back of the cupboard. You can fancy it up with egg whites to counteract the bitterness, but if you're making these at home then it's probably easier to just leave it as is. The cherry at the end is very important though. Having soaked up the sugar, citrus, and booze, it serves as an excellent sweet 'n' sour palate cleanser between rounds. Other dark spirits can also make a great sour, one of the most popular being Amaretto as its sweetness offsets the lemon perfectly. If you're feeling decadent you can always top up your glass with champagne (or cava) and truly have a drink to be delighted with. Ingredients: 45ml whiskey 45ml lemon juice 25ml simple syrup Maraschino cherry Preparation: Mix the whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup, then garnish with the cherry.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
