Making A Murderer Season 2 Review: 2 Ups & 5 Downs
3. It's PAINFULLY Slow
The best thing about the first season was the way it balanced slow-build story reveals with building up a rapport with the major players involved (or at least giving us enough information to allow us to make our own judgements - more of which soon). There was a lot going on, but the format of the show meant that it worked and there didn't feel like there was any flab - in fact, you could almost forgive the biased editing decisions because of how much had to be told.
Unfortunately for the second season, there's just not as much to go on and it feels a lot like it's been stretched thinly to cover the same number of episodes. It shows quite badly at times as there's the faintest whiff that there's not quite as much material here to justify how long it is. And that also means it's slow.
