Making A Murderer Season 2 Review: 2 Ups & 5 Downs
2. It Lacks Some Of The First Season's Intrigue
Kathleen Zellner is obviously a hugely intriguing figure and her career warrants special attention, particularly in line with the Avery/Dassey story, but - whisper it - she's not as interesting as the major players in season one.
The biggest issue there - and it's one that goes to the show's overall intrigue compared to season one - is that it doesn't just feel like she's trying to get Avery and Dassey off, but that she's trying to get season one off from the accusations of bias levelled at it. Her proceedure almost feels like she's defending the show-makers.
This is no longer a show about systemic injustice, it's a conspiracy theory round-up and that's just not as interesting.
