Mandalorian Season 2 WILL Feature Characters From The Skywalker Saga
Are we set to see characters from the original Star Wars trilogy appear on the Mandalorian?
The Mandalorian has wrapped up its debut season and fans all around the globe are left desperately waiting for their next dose of Baby Yoda. The season finale saw Pedro Pascal’s titular protagonist fend off the Imperial splinter groups trying to steal the young Jedi sensation. In the process, he finally became free of his outlaw status, flying off to start a new life with his adopted super-powered son.
However, while Mando won’t be returning to our screens until the fall of this year, the rumor mill, as always, has been buzzing with news. One of the more surprising bits of information to trickle through the media cracks, surrounds the possible characters who could be appearing in season 2 of the fan favorite galactic adventure ride.
As brought to light by the Deadline, inside sources have been suggesting we could be seeing characters from the Skywalker films play a part on season 2 of the Mandalorian. This immediately sparks all kinds of speculation as to which members of the massive Star Wars universe could be set appear on our Disney+ screens.
We know for certain the Mandalorian takes place shortly after Return of the Jedi. The galaxy is still struggling to deal with Imperial splinter groups and insurgencies as the New Republic has not quite gained complete control over all the star systems. Although, any firm rule they do establish was to be short lived anyway as by the time of The Force Awakens, they have been wiped out once more.
The question now becomes who? Which of characters from the movies could cross paths with Mando and Baby Yoda. The Rise of Skywalker saw the return of Billy Dee Williams’ General Lando Calrissian. Perhaps the battle hardened rebel general could be around to give our beloved bounty hunter a hand? Though, given the timeline, Williams would require some of that digital de-aging magic to make him temporally at home.
Aside from him, since this show is about bounty hunters, who better perhaps than Boba Fett to enter the fray. Especially since this provides an opportunity to flip the narrative surrounding Fett. From serving as a hired assassin for Darth Vader, he could somehow end up helping Mando and Baby Yoda against the Dark Side. Who, as the closing moments of season 1 told us, are still hot on the heels of their prized target.
Regardless of which iconic figures from movies show up, one thing is for certain, the Mandalorian will only continue to gain hype as we wait for season 2. And as fans, the only thing we enjoy as much as our favorite shows and movies, is boarding the hype train leading up to them.
As a certain someone would say; this is the way.
