Marvel's Jessica Jones: 5 Ways Kilgrave Could Return In Season 2

5. Jessica Killed A Fake Kilgrave

One of the most interesting (and terrifying) things about Kilgrave was just how much his presence pervaded the show's atmosphere. He was here, there and everywhere for the majority of its proceedings, and it lent the series a somewhat disorienting quality - both for its viewers and the characters involved.

Jessica was fighting through PTSD for much of the first season, and, given the connection shared between her and Kilgrave, it could be possible that the person she killed wasn't actually him. Rather, the act of eliminating Kilgrave could have symbolic value in Jones destroying the remnants of the character lingering in her mind. Obviously he'd have to appear as a physical apparition as other characters saw him in his closing moments, but it could be the case that he was just a projection of both his - and Jessica's - conscious.

It would certainly make for a spectacular reveal if the character returned in a physical form for season two, only for Jessica to realise that the Kilgrave of yesteryear was just a projection of the actual Purple Man.

Scratch that, it would be tragic. Because Kilgrave's awful. God.
