Trish's arc over the course of the season doesn't quite land, with things becoming muddled in her inhaler addiction/desire to help people/want to have superpowers/apparent jealousy of Jessica.

This starts to come to a head when she goes off with Dr Malus for a similar operation to what happened to Jessica. Malus agrees to go along with it, and it looks like it's actually going to be completed until Jess arrives on the scene to seemingly save the day, and we get to see some gruesome close-ups of the needles in Trish and the mess that they've made of her back.
