28. The Mongoose

The show's version of the Whizzer mentions that he has a pet mongoose - and we get a look at the creature in a photograph of the pair together - which is a nod back to the character from the comics.

Infamously, the comics version was empowered when he was bitten by a snake in Africa and his father gave him a transfusion of mongoose blood, which accidentally gave him superspeed. Don't think about it too much, it really doesn't make sense.

As a further nod to that origin, the mongoose is named Emil after Dr Emil Frank - the father with the great idea of the transfusion.
