Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2: 10 Big Questions We're Left With
5. Who Will Be The Next Big Bad?
On a similar note, another big question about season 3 that it's hard to guess the answer to is: who will be the next big threat to Harlem that Luke will have to stop?
By the end of season 2, many of Cage's most dangerous enemies had been dealt with. Mariah's dead, Shade is behind bars, Bushmaster has been sent back to Jamaica etc. Sure, there is Tilda, but she would most likely fit the mold of a supporting antagonist rather than a central one. For one, she can't go toe-to-toe in a fight with someone of Luke's strength.
On the back of Cottonmouth, Diamondback and Bushmaster, it's probably best if Luke Cage season 3 refrains from introducing another crime boss with a snake-themed name. Other options drawn from the comics, then, include Gideon Mace - a kind of villainous Punisher with a mace for a hand - and Moses Magnum - an evil weapons manufacturer with global plans.
Alternatively, if the writers are brave enough, season 3 could properly go the Breaking Bad route and make Luke the villain of his own show, now that he is the King of Harlem.
