Say what you will about Iron Fist, but the dynamic between Luke and Danny is shaping up to be one of the best things about The Defenders.
It makes sense, given the pair's synonymy in the comics as the main custodians of Heroes for Hire - a private firm where super-heroics can be exchanged for goods in much the same way The A-Team worked - but the way both Colter and Jones are hyping up this relationship in particular is enough cause for excitement.
Jones has mentioned that The Defenders will 'mature' Danny in a way his solo series didn't, and it's reasonable to surmise that much of this growth emerges from his relationship with Luke. Considering that the first time the two meet they come to blows, it sounds as though they'll be off to a rocky start before they even begin to contemplate embodying one of the most iconic friendships in the comic book medium.
Oh, and this has to lead to a Heroes for Hire show somehow. After Luke and Danny's second seasons, perhaps?

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
