6. Jessica Jones Is The Star

It has been far too long since we last saw Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones in-action - the longest wait of any of the Defenders - but her appearances here more than make up for it, as Jessica quickly establishes herself as the MVP of the series.

Ritter completely nailed the character first time around, bringing layers of vulnerability and pain to go with the tough-talking, hard-hitting, even harder-drinking exterior of the badass P.I., and all that is very much on display again here.

Like with Matt, she has one of the clearest and strongest arcs in the early goings, struggling with the light stopping Kilgrave has shed on her and balancing her own survival instincts with trying to do good. She offers a marked contrast to the other heroes in her fighting style, given she's much more of a brawler, but it's the attitude that sets her apart.

Once again we see her putting the no-nonsense, suffer-no-fools worldview on display, and it's no surprise that Jessica is by far the most entertaining to watch, with all the best lines - usually aimed at calling out one of her fellow heroes, or how ridiculous the whole thing is - going her way, but ensuring there's a level of complexity in her actions and motivations that make her far more than a vessel for snarky one-liners.
