Marvel's The Defenders: 6 Reasons To Be Excited (And 4 To Be Worried)
2. The Heroes Teaming Up
There's a particular allure to team-up events, whether it's in comic book form, TV, or movies. It's why The Avengers became such a big hit, why Justice League is still appealing despite some misfires in the DCEU, and why the Arrowverse can sell a four-way crossover event over the course of an entire week.
The Defenders is no exception to this. While we've watched Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand on their own shows, there should in theory be a lot of fun in bringing them together.
Each character has a very different personality, and a different set of powers and skills, and should make for an interesting and also very combustible team. Part of the fun with the Avengers, for example, was the various team dynamics that emerged, with both the inner conflicts and the surprising friendships (Science Bros!) and there's reason to be hopeful we can get something that works just as well here, even if these four people aren't exactly the kind of guys who are interested in playing nice and making friends.
