If you've been watching the Netflix Marvel shows, there's a very good chance that you're invested in The Defenders. While each show will have its own set of fans perhaps unique to that particular series, for a large part of the audience it's all about how they come together to form something bigger, much like was the case with Marvel's Phase One.

There's something very exciting in that build-up. This was announced back in 2013, and by the time it arrives on screens we'll have spent two-and-a-half years and 52 hours of television waiting to get to this point. It's the reason to watch and keep watching every series, so you're fully up-to-date for the team-up event, and it's an enticing prospect that we're finally going to see all of that time, effort, and setup being paid off.

But then again, it's a fairly worrying prospect at the same time.
