2. Danny Rand
Our first actual super hero to join the list, Danny Rand or Iron Fist is probably a given for fans, but when it comes to the decision makers everything is a crapshoot. Iron Fist came onto the scene in the 70s during a time when just about every action film featured karate shoes and one guy beating the life out of everyone else. Marvel ended up sticking Luke Cage and Danny Rand into a partnership called Heroes 4 Hire. Despite the fact that Rand was rich and shouldnt have needed to charge people for his Kung Fu services (but with Luke Cage on board Marvel needed to make it clear that black folk need incentive to do the right thing hold on throwing up in my mouth a little). In the end they were ultimately two silly looking laughing stocks for over a decade. Currently however both Luke Cage and Danny Rand have seen a considerable revival in terms of character and behavior. Cage especially has become one of Marvels greatest heroes and Danny Rand has come into his own as well, while their friendship has endured and even grown over the years. The preview makes it clear that this is a Luke Cage origin of sorts, one that will likely do away with the characters highly complex and somewhat controversial origin (and considering what is happening in Florida right now, it could be for the best). To introduce Danny in a different capacity could be key if Cage is more popular than Marvel anticipated and therefore demands more screen time.
