8. The Office Door
As an indication of Nelson and Murdock's early days as a practicing law firm, and their spectacular lack of funds, their office door sign is no more than a piece of paper with their names written on it stuck to the door.
They haven't even taken off the name of the former occupier, which can briefly be seen as Van Lunt Real Estate. That is a reference to Cornelius Van Lunt, head of the Zodiac International crime cartel, and the other name of incredibly bad Marvel villain Taurus.
Van Lunt is also referenced by Leland Owlsley, who states his company will benefit from the increased prices of real estate in Hell's Kitchen. Which is presumably why he had to vacate the office for bigger premises.
