16. References To The Incident

Obviously there were less references to the aftermath of the end of The Avengers, but we did get an acknowledgement that some parts of New York are still like the aftermath of a war zone. Presumably, that is playing a big part in the mentality of the city's inhabitants in the run up to Civil War. There was also a more tangible reference to the cost of the Avengers' heroism. When Karen Page goes to the newspaper office to research, she is told that the servers were completely wiped out by the Incident. That's clearly a reference to Ultron's interference with the Internet (rather than the actual Sokovia Incident) but it's nice to get a reminder that the grander scale MCU events have ripples on the smaller shows.
