Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2: 32 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

15. The Civil War Echoes

With the MCU hurtling towards Civil War, the ideology of heroism is a big part of Daredevil's season two mentality. Not only do we get confirmation that the DA is attempting to stop vigilanteism (and presumably control which heroes are in operation), but there's also repeated reference to the city's need for heroes. Even Daredevil acknowledges that New York needs Punisher, despite not agreeing with his lethal methods. Though she's a little annoying, Karen Page's final voice-over is the stuff that rousing dreams are made of, and a lot of what she says feels like a conscious nod towards Civil War. She talks about Daredevil (and Punisher) being: "A hero lives here, on the street... with us!" You have to suspect that reasoning is going to figure into Captain America's attempts to justify not adhering to the Accords.
