Marvel's Inhumans Premiere: 8 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The First Chapter'
4. The Humor Works Well

The action may have fallen a bit flat, but the charismatic cast of Inhumans were more than capable of effective humor.
Just about all of Karnak's quips hit the mark, as his strategy-related powers have made him a realist to the point where he openly tells people what's wrong with them in such a casual, matter-of-fact way that it'll make Drax the Destroyer seem socially competent. Plus, as stated before, he has fantastic comedic chemistry with Gorgon (who himself has some funny banter with the Hawaiian natives.)
Speaking of social ineptitude, another big source of comedy is Black Bolt's sheer confusion and lack of any and all courtesy as he navigates the human world. And the fact that he has to get around without the ability to speak leads to some great physical comedy, like the entire sequence where he gets fitted for and unknowingly steals a suit.
There's also Auran, who had to vividly argue her way into getting transported down to Earth, only to realize she had been teleported halfway underground and had to shoot her way out.
Most importantly, the humor used manages to entertain without feeling drawn out or like it's taking away from the plot.
