There was an odd reference to Man Of Steel in Daredevil that you could have forgiven as a one-off, but it seems Netflix shows want you to know they're happy to reference across the Marvel/DC divide. Obviously, the villain neck snap at the end is very Zod-like (as is Jessica's reluctance to kill him up to that point), but it's even more specific than that. First off, there are the references to shooting lasers out of eyes, as if that would be a ridiculous super-power, and the fact that the needles breaking on Luke Cage's unbreakable skin in hospital references Superman's first appearance in Action Comics #1. And even more specifically, at one point, Jessica literally says "what doesn't kill you makes you stranger." So, she's a Heath Ledger fan then?
