Self-proclaimed 'Fannibals' will want to take note here, because Steven Lightfoot - Bryan Fuller's longtime collaborator on NBC's Hannibal - is running the show once more.

Cool name aside, Lightfoot's involvement in the Punisher is very encouraging. The first two seasons of Hannibal made for some truly magnetic television, and while the third season was a bit slow to start, it was still fantastic. Buoyed by the formidable performances of Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy, the show garnered a reputation for its convincing (and sometimes horrifying) adaptation of Thomas Harris' books, and with such a reputation in place, there's plenty of reason to be optimistic regarding Lightfoot's involvement in the Punisher.

We know for certain that he's written the first three episodes of the series, so expect it to kick off with a strong start. One would also suspect that it'll be the darkest Netflix offering yet, so be prepared for some pretty gruesome imagery come November.
