Marvel's The Punisher: Ranking Every Major Character From Worst To Best
6. Sarah Lieberman
The addition of the Lieberman family was a brilliant move as it generated some really interesting character drama on several different fronts. Firstly, it offered Frank the opportunity to gain a surrogate family to watch out for, while also bringing his pain back to the surface. For Micro, it meant that he had to sit and watch Frank practically move in on his loved ones, while he was laying low for their own safety.
While she was mostly an adjunct to those characters' arcs, then, Sarah Lieberman was a strong character in her own right, as well. In contrast to Frank's wife Maria, who only appears in rose-tinted flashbacks, Sarah is depicted as a three-dimensional person, a good mother who is struggling to hold it together for her kids in the wake of her husbands' 'death.'
Jaime Ray Newman was terrific in the role and her complicated chemistry with Jon Bernthal was spot-on (probably due to the fact that the pair had previously played husband and wife in 2006's Eastwick).
