Marvel's The Punisher: Ranking Every Major Character From Worst To Best
3. David Lieberman
There's a reason Micro has only appeared in one out of three movies featuring the Punisher so far - Frank's not really the kind of hero who works well with others at all, let alone the sort to have a sidekick. The Netflix show nails it perfectly, though, by having Micro and Punisher start as uneasy allies brought together by circumstance, with a genuine friendship growing out of that.
In contrast to the sleazier character from the comics, the show's version of David Lieberman is a good guy through and through and his non-violent methods provide a nice contrast to Frank.
The motivation to get back home to his family is a neat one that ensures we sympathize with him. Much like with Daredevil's Foggy, a lesser show would cast Micro as comic relief but The Punisher makes him a dramatic foil for Frank's character.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach excels in the part, making Micro a relatable everyman forced into a horrible situation. You might not always be on Frank's side, but it's impossible not to root for David.
