Marvel's The Punisher Season 2: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

4. What Happens With Karen?

Karen Page was an important part of The Punisher's first season, building upon their relationship in Daredevil Season 2 where they were able to truly understand one another when no one else could.

This time around, though, she only works a one-off appearance, visiting Frank in the hospital. It's still great to see Karen turn up, although it does feel slightly random, and doesn't exactly give any closure considering this is probably the last time we're going to see Deborah Ann Woll in the MCU.

It certainly hints at the romance that many fans have been wishing for since Daredevil Season 2, but never goes any further with it than a few furtive glances, and then she creates the distraction that allows Frank to escape the hospital. After that, she presumably simply goes back to Hell's Kitchen and Murdock, Nelson & Page. The pair obviously care deeply for each other, but for now, with Daredevil scrapped and The Punisher likely to be, it won't go beyond that.
