MCU: Ranking Every Netflix Marvel Season Worst To Best
9. Jessica Jones Season 2
While it's far from the worst season of these shows made, Jessica Jones Season 2 is, by some distance, the most disappointing. After a stunning debut run, which established Krysten Ritter's hero as one unlike any other, we had to wait two-and-a-half years for the follow-up, and we got this.
The single biggest problem with Season 2 is that it's been ordered by Netflix, and yet doesn't actually have any story to tell. Season 1 had an incredible focus, and was driven by the personal, character drama and trauma of Jessica and the villainous Kilgrave. Season 2, on the other hand, doesn't really know what it wants to be.
There's no real antagonist, and the plot meanders around in a number of different directions, never fully-committing to any of them until it's much too late, and making a few strange decisions in the process, especially regarding Trish. That it works at all largely comes from another phenomenal performance from Ritter, while its messaging and themes are also great, and there's some really excellent direction, it's just a shame it's all wrapped up in a 13-hour slog of a story.
