MCU: She-Hulk, Moon Knight And Ms Marvel Shows CONFIRMED For Phase 4

There have been whispers over the years of Marvel making lots of projects that we've heard very little of since they were initially teased. Kevin Feige has dropped nuggets on plans to use Ms Marvel previously, She-Hulk was always part of the rumour mill and Moon Knight was all but confirmed to be on the slate at SOME point, but nothing concrete ever materialised.

Until now.

On the back of a strong showing at Comic Con, Disney have unveiled three new Disney+ shows starring the new-to-MCU characters and Kevin Feige says they're all also going to be part of Phase 4, despite an already packed schedule.

On top of that, Feige confirmed that the characters - particularly Ms Marvel - and their storylines will be featured on the big screen in future MCU movies, rather than the separation that was always part of the Netflix MCU shows' make-up. That was very much part of the Ms Marvel announcement and presumably counts for all three. It also harks back to what he said in April when Disney+ was unveiled:

“These shows will be on the same level of quality that you’ve come to expect from Marvel Studios, and we’ll be taking advantage of that creative freedom that Disney+ offers exploring the MCU, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with our favorite characters over multiple episodes. These will be both new and continuing stories, and one of the things we’re most excited about, is that these will be major storylines set in the MCU with ramifications that will be felt both through the other Disney+ series we’re producing and our features on the big screen.”

All three characters are great, not least because they offer differences to Phase 4. Moon Knight will focus on mercenary Marc Spector, who is left for dead in the Egyptian desert by fellow mercenary Raoul Bushman and is saved by the moon god Khonshu when locals take him to a temple. He becomes the God's avatar on Earth in return for a second chance at life. Apparently, while showing off his crime-fighting, the series will explore whether his Khonshu visions and empowerment were real or whether he is insane. Let's hope it's the former because YIKES.

She-Hulk, meanwhile, is the alter-ego of Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner who is a lawyer and transforms into She-Hulk after getting a blood transfusion from Banner, which seems like an oversight. Presumably that means Mark Ruffalo will be appearing in her show? Unlike her cousin, she can control her emotions better and rather than losing herself to her Hulk alter-ego, she mostly stays as She-Hulk all the time. There's no casting news but Feige confirmed the series would be "unlike anything we've done before."

Ms Marvel, will follow Kamala Khan and will be based on the comic that was spearheaded by G Willow Wilson, which featured Marvel's first headlining Muslim hero. In the comics, she takes inspiration from Captain Marvel, so that might confirm that she TOO will appear on Disney+ at least briefly. Ms. Marvel’s powers involve shapeshifting, stretching, and “embiggening,” and while she was linked to the Inhumans in the comics, that's probably not going to happen here. Not after all the... unpleasantness.

All very exciting things.

Now we have to ask what MCU movies are going to be revealed when the movie panel kicks off at the start of day two...
