Every one of the Marvel Netflix series had everything from their protagonists to antagonists cast perfectly. Vincent D'Onofrio IS Kingpin. Mike Colter IS Luke Cage. Jon Bernthal IS the Punisher. There's no way of getting around it.

Even the cast of Iron Fist, though initially received poorly, was well cast. Jessica Henwick and Sacha Dhawan gave audiences superb portrayals of Colleen Wing and Davos respectively, Finn Jones' Danny Rand even became greatly enjoyable once the awkwardness of the first season wore off.

The problem of actors not wanting to return is an easy one to solve: don't bring those characters back.
